LOUISIANA HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY INFORMATION REQUEST AND RELEASE POLICY

General Program Information

All general program information will be provided as requested either by mail, fax or the web. General information may include but is not limited to program terms and guidelines, income and mortgage limits, funds availability, project lists etc.

Request Procedure

If requesting information from an application and/or compliance file a written request must be submitted and must include the following:
  File(s) that are being requested.
  Specific information or documents being requested for each file.
  The reason the information is being requested.

Depending upon the size of each request the Agency may provide copies of the documents being requested as a courtesy. However the Agency reserves the right to require the party making the request to have the copying done themselves at the Agency’s office and pay for the expense of making the copies.

Application File Policy

If information or documents being requested are marked confidential by the applicant, said applicant will be notified of the request by telephone and facsimile, the applicant will be told the identity of the party making the request, and the stated purpose for the request. It is the applicants duty to obtain a court order protecting their documents from release. If the Agency does not receive a court order within 7 working days from the day the request is received by the Agency, the documents will be released to the person requesting them.

- Application files that were received before March 8, 2000 and were not given an opportunity to mark information confidential will use the same procedure as the Compliance Files Policy below.

- Documents not marked confidential will be released without notification to the applicant.

Compliance File Policy

If information or documents are being requested, said project owner will be notified of the request by telephone and facsimile, the project owner will be told the identity of the party making the request, and the stated purpose for the request. It is the project owner’s duty to obtain a court order protecting their documents from release. If the Agency does not receive a court order within 7 working days from the day the request is received by the Agency, the documents will be released to the person requesting them.
Tenant Certifications and Income Information will be considered confidential and will not be released.

Individual Loan Files

- Personal financial information will be considered confidential and will not be released.
